About the Author
The Little Red Book is the second of the trilogy of novels by D B Minter. The novels have links to famous operas from the past, where the updated dramatic narrative of mystery, romance and fantasy that D B creates ‒ uncannily correspond with the opera plot.
The first novel, The Incidental Legacy of Carlo Negrini, published in 2024, referenced the Verdi opera, Simon Boccanegra from 1857, revised in 1881 with a text by Arrigo Boito. Following on from The Little Red Book, the third and final novel of the trilogy will feature the opera partnership of the composer Richard Strauss, and the poet/librettist Hugo von Hofmannsthal.
D B Minter was born in the county of Hertfordshire, England, and is currently a resident of Aldeburgh, Suffolk. During the 1970s and the 1980s D B lived and worked in Dublin, Ireland, where he met his wife, Deirdre.
A proud father and grandfather, D B and Deirdre enjoy exploring the beautiful coast and countryside of Suffolk together, as well as attending concert and opera performances. At home, listening to music, reading books and creating delicious meals, are their preferred leisure activities.
